Imagine

Here is my entry to Scrap the Girls this month and there is a funny story to it too. I actually started this layout in January for a previous challenge they had, but it just didn't work for me. When I saw this month's challenge, with the blues and browns, I just pulled it out and continued with it. I loved the feathers on the mood board and it gave me an idea to incorporate fibres and ribbon (something I have an abundance of in my stash and very rarely use).

Products used:

Cardstock: Bazzill

Embellishments: Maya Road stencil, texture paste, WOW embossing powder - Gold, Metallic Melts - Red Velvet, Distress Stain - Broken China, ribbon, fibres, tassel, Funky Flair, Charms Creations star, feathers, chipboard word

Hello Gorgeous

Well, it sure has been a while that I have created and therefore since I have entered any challenges. When I saw this challenge over at Kraft Plus, I was excited to give it a go. I am in love with yellow at the moment, so I thought I would pull out an old Kaisercraft kit I had and it just fell together so well with this photo of my daughter at 4 months old. The challenge was to use roses in 3 different ways, so I first stencilled with a Kaisercraft die and texture paste. I then used some paper with roses and added the sticker from the kit onto the yellow paper, cutting it in half first, so I can use the other piece somewhere else ;). There are also some paper flower roses and a Funky Flair with a rose on it.

Cardstock: Kraft

Paper: Kaisercraft kit

Embellishments: Kaisercraft kit sticker & die cuts, Distress Ink - Spun Sugar, Kaisercraft stencil, texture paste, Funky Flair, paper & fabric flowers, The Craft Stall vellum die cut, brad

13th Birthday

Challenge #4 over at D-Lish Scraps Cybercrop for January was Simply Stencilled. You had to incorporate 3 different stencils into your project. I had had some recent lessons in mixed media & was in the throws of experimenting, so this project was fun! I used texture paste with 2 of my stencils, then sprayed gold spray over a 3rd. Here is my son on his 13th birthday. I had given the camera to my oldest & asked her to take the photos, unfortunately they were all a bit blurry, & this was the better of the lot.

Products used:

Cardstock: Bazzill
Embellishments: Kaisercraft stencils, texture paste, Dylusions spray - Tangerine Dream, Heidi Swapp Colour Shine - Black Velvet, Gold, Kaisercraft mists - Yellow, Orange, candles, brads, twine, Pressed Petals chipboard word, Memento ink, D-Lish enamel dots
Love

Challenge #3 over at D-Lish Scraps Cybercrop for January was a colour challenge. Using, white, pink, mint & gold glitter was easy as I love this colour combo. I did have to scour the computer & my 1000's of photos to find the perfect photo - taken way back in 2011! Here is my oldest on her 11th birthday party day where she went horseriding with her friends. I have added a pocket page with the remaining photos of the day.

You & Me

Last month I decided to give a Cybercrop Challenge a go over at D-Lish Scraps. They have 4 different challenges & you can do 1 or you can do all of them. I have never done one of these challenges, so I wasn't sure how I would go. I started at number 1 & was very happy to get them all done. The first challenge was Diagonal Design & here is my son with our sweet, late puppy who we lost on Christmas Eve

Cue 123...

Over at Scrap the Boys this month the challenge was Numbers. I thought of many ideas & chose to try and get some older photos scrapped. When our son got a new bike for Christmas in 2015, his Dad took him to the local park where he decided to try out the jumps. Well! as if we didn't think he wouldn't fall off! Sure enough he came home looking like this. I was shocked but not really worried, to which he thought it was hilarious that I was at all concerned. After all, he is a boy & he's tough!

Not That Colour!

Here is my entry for the challenge over at White With 1 this month, with the colour being Princess Pink. I knew I had to scrap these photos of my youngest, ready for her end of year dance concert in her pink tutu. She never seems to make a serious face when her photo is taken, but when she goes on stage, she always looks beautiful. When her dance teacher announced that the class would be wearing pink for their performance, Tabitha's repsonse was exactly that - Not that colour! Pink is her least favourite colour! When buying her own tutu, I couldn't even look at the pretty pink ones, it had to be her most favourite colour of blue! She's a funny kid ;)

Be Proud of Yourself

Over at 123 Challenge blog, the criteria for the challenge was the colour blue, the word proud & the technique, stars. I have really been trying to use up some of my stash, so when I found this kit from Funky Flairs, I thought it would fit in perfectly. At first I thought it was too simple, but the more I looked at it, the more I loved it - even hubby commented on how much he liked it! So, here is my boy, published in our local paper, being nominated for a sports award! He was interviewed & had 100's of photos taken by the paper's photographer. He makes me so proud :)

Make a Wish

Over at Show Us Your Stuff, they had a moodboard challenge this month. With it's Summery feel & bright colours, I had to use these photos of Tabitha at her 9th birthday party blowing out candles and making a wish. Being born in February, they were perfect to capture that Summery feel. This is my first time entering a challenge for SUYS!

After a bit of a creating break, I found my mojo again this month & was able to join in on several on-line challenges - it feels so good to create again! This is my entry into the Kraft + Challenges, where you had to use a bike somewhere on your creation. I struggled with ideas for this one, so decided to make a tag as I have realised that I actually love making them!
