My Daddy, My Hero

Well, here goes... this layout, done for Scrap the Boys this month, has been 3 years in the making. I have wanted to scrap this photo so many times, but I just wasn't ready. When I saw the theme this month of My Daddy, My Hero, I knew it was time. I apologize to those who may find it morbid or depressing, but it has been sitting in me for the past 3 years & it was time to get it out. I have been accused of wanting sympathy when I share things about my Dad & his passing, but for anyone who knows me, that is simply not the case. I wear my heart on my sleeve at times & am not afraid to be exactly who I am. My Dad was my hero (& in some cases, still is) & I am not afraid to admit, the tears rolled freely as I attempted to write these words. RIP Dad, I will love you forever X

Be Yourself

After missing a couple of months of the Kraft + challenges, I really wanted to get this one done. I was inspired by a layout I saw in a recent copy of Scrapbooking Memories where they had used frames around the photo & I really liked it. However, as I saw more & more people uploading there own layouts, I became slightly discouraged, as they are all so talented. I just didn't feel I had what it takes... Never mind, I pulled up my big girl panties & just did it! I am quite happy with the result :)

Love This

After scouring the amazing inspiration from the DT girls over at Charms Creations, several times mind you, I finally decided to scraplift a page by Charm herself! I actually loved doing this & yes, I got very messy! It only took me a couple of hours to do (allowing for drying time of the Colour Shine & lunch), which was a bonus seeing as I have had a horrible headache all day.

This Is Your Wanderlust

What a pleasant surprise & honour to be asked to be a Guest DT this month over at Funky Flair! I was so nervous & hoped I would do the challenge justice. When I saw the word 'Wanderlust', I froze a little... we haven't been on a holiday for, well, forever... It really made me think of how I could tackle this. I remember this quote from Dr Seuss & knew my daughter's love of reading was the best way to go. This kid reads almost every waking minute - I'm not kidding! Reads while walking, eating & is constantly at her school library borrowing as many books as they will let her. I know that this love of books is what fuels her creative mind & I can only imagine the places she goes.

I Love You

Last month, I was just a little bit late in getting my entry in for White with 1's challenge, so I thought I would be well prepared this month. I am uploading ALL my month's entries at once! Now, that I have started, I am regretting it - about a dozen to do!

This month's challenge was Jester Red & although it is my 2nd favourite colour, I seemed to struggle with it a bit.

Products used:

Cardstock: Bazzill
Paper: Various paper scraps from my stash, vellum
Embellishments: Prima stencil, texture paste, doily, Charms Creations heart, paper & fabric flowers, brads, Kaisercraft word die
